No one wants to think about losing a tooth, yet alone multiple teeth.  However, when a tooth is lost it is important to understand that there are options for replacing missing teeth and restoring your smile—dental implants.  Previously, the only treatments available for people with missing teeth were bridges and dentures.  Today, dental implants are currently available to replace a single tooth, or multiple teeth.

A dental implant is a replacement for the root of a tooth, and is secured into your jawbone.  Once the implant is placed, you will be able to visibly see it, as the implant is used to secure crowns, bridgework or dentures in place.  With advancements in dentistry, dental implants have been proven to be the best solutions in the replacement of missing teeth.

By replacing your missing teeth with dental implants you can experience an array of benefits that will keep you smiling all year long.  Some of the benefits include:

  • Improved appearance
  • Improved speech
  • Improved chewing functions
  • Improved durability
  • Improved self-esteem and renewed self-confidence

Natural looking, comfortable, long-lasting, and secure, dental implants are a safe and permanent alternative to dentures.  Unlike conventional dentures, you will never have to worry about your implants falling out because implants are fixed to your jaw.

To determine if dental implants are appropriate for you, a consultation with Dr. Bobinski, dentist in Yonkers and Bronxville, is needed.  During your appointment, Dr. Bobinski will conduct a thorough examination of your teeth and gums to decide whether implants are the ideal solution for restoring your teeth.

Based on the condition of your oral tissues, oral hygiene and personal habits, your dentist will advise you of the most appropriate dental implant treatment plan that best fits your needs. Make an appointment with Dr. John Bobinski, your dentist in Bronxville, to find out if dental implants are a good solution to restoring your smile.

Tooth CareDaily oral hygiene is essential in maintaining a healthy mouth, but many people often find themselves neglecting some of the basic daily routines they should always follow.  To help patients better understand the importance of maintaining a daily oral health care regimen, Dr. Bobinski offers helpful tips for his patients to follow.

To begin with, patients should always brush their teeth at least twice a day.  Brushing your teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush can significantly help improve the health of your teeth and gums.  When choosing a toothbrush, make sure the size and shape fit your mouth allowing you to reach all areas easily.  Remember to replace your toothbrush every three or four months, or sooner if the bristles become frayed because a worn toothbrush will not do a good job of cleaning your teeth.  When brushing your teeth, make sure to use ADA-accepted fluoride toothpaste for extra protection.

Additionally, it is vital that you floss daily to remove plaque from between your teeth—in areas that the toothbrush can’t reach.  Flossing also helps to prevent gum disease and dental decay.  Plaque that is not removed with thorough daily brushing and cleaning between your teeth with floss can eventually harden into calculus or tartar.

Dr. Bobinski also urges you to visit his Bronxville, NY dental office at least twice a year for regular dental cleanings and examinations.  Combining at-home care with in-office care, you can help to ensure that your mouth remains healthy longer.  Visit Dr. Bobinski and his staff to schedule your next appointment to maintain a healthy glowing smile this year.
